Chat

When entering the web event, the chat tab is activated by default and will be displayed on the right side. To hide the tab, click on it again.

There are 3 chat options available for a moderator:

  • Group chat (notepad icon)
  • Q&A Chat (question mark icon)
  • Moderator Chat (star symbol).

Participants only see the first two chats and can take part in them.

However, if you would like to hide either the group chat and/or the Q&A, you can (de)activate those functions within evenito. In this article we show you how to do this.

Please note: if you leave a new message in one of the chats, a red circle with a number will appear on the chat icon. The number initiates how many new messages have been submitted.

Groupchat

In this chat, all those present at a webevent can exchange information.

  1. To compose a message, type in the free space behind "Type here..."
  2. Send the message by pressing Enter.

You want to reply directly to the message of a participant?

  1. Click on the requested message. A small arrow appears on the right side at the bottom of the message: image-1.png
  2. Click on it and insert your message.
  3. Confirm again with Enter. Your answer is now directly related to the participant message.

Q&A Chat

Participants have the possibility to submit private questions directly to the moderator. This conversation can only be viewed by the two interactors (and possible co-moderators).

In order for the participant to see the moderator's answer, the following steps are required:

  1. Select this specific message by clicking on it.
  2. On the right side, a small arrow appears at the bottom of the message: image-1.png
  3. Click on it and insert your message.
  4. Confirm by clicking Enter.

Moderator Chat

If several moderators are involved in your event, they can communicate with each other. The exchange is not visible to the participants.

  1. To compose a message, type in the free space after “type here...".
  2. Send the message by pressing Enter.

You want to reply directly to a message from a co-moderator?

  1. Click on this specific message.
  2. On the right side, a small arrow appears at the bottom of the message: image-1.png
    Click on it.
  3. Enter your message.
  4. Press Enter to confirm.

Delete chat history

Moderators can delete the chat history.

You want to delete the entire history?

  1. Click on the "clear all" button in the right corner below the input field in the chat.
  2. Confirm the pop-up window with “yes”.

Next step: Manage Playlist within Webevent Global
